Designed by Jasper Morrison in 2009, the Smithfield pendant light from Italian brand Flos provides direct light and features a timeless design with an industrial touch. The body of the lighting is made of aluminium and is available in elegant colour options: gloss black, matte black, red, green, white or MUD (grey-beige). The opal methacrylate diffuser is injection moulded and evenly diffuses the light. The luminaire is suspended from a steel cable system and a 2700 mm long double insulated electrical cable. Smithfield draws inspiration from traditional craftsmanship and its shape references classic industrial lights. Two versions are available with dimming options - either PUSH or DALI.

Inspiration from London's Smithfield Market

The name Smithfield refers to London's famous meat market, whose industrial lighting inspired designer Jasper Morrison. The original lighting were functional, robust and designed to provide intensive lighting for working areas. Morrison has translated this utilitarian style into a sleek and modern take that suits commercial as well as residential interiors.

High attention to technical details

Smithfield is not just about design, but also about precision engineering. The luminaire is equipped with a high quality PTFE cable with five conductor wiring and double insulation for safe operation. With two dimming options - PUSH and DALI - it allows for easy integration into smart lighting systems and customization of the lighting ambience to the specific needs of the space.
